Andre started his radio career in 1997 at Radio KC, a comunity radio station in the Western Cape. He further went on to study Radio & TV Electronics as well as Industrial Electronics.
He soon realized that the had a growing love for radio electronics and broadcasting. After being actively involved at Radio KC for just more than ten (10) years Andre successfully applied for the position of Technical Manager in 2008 at Radio Pulpit in Pretoria. His duties involved maintaining the broadcast and production studios as well as installing new equipment and do future upgrade planning.
During 2009 he bid Radio Pulpit fare well to join Triple M Productions who is contracted to produce Christian programmes for RSG, the Afrikaans radio service of the SABC. For the next three years Andre was responsible for the technical matters as the Technical Manager of Triple M Productions as well as being a radio producer and often doing field work.
During September 2008 he is appointed Station Manager of Radio Graaff-Reinet in the Eastern Cape. Working with Triple M Productions, the MDDA, ICASA and various others he successfully managed to re-open the closed radio station to revive the community service that rapidly grew. With the support of ICASA the radio station continued broadcasting under the management of Andre. He thereafter founded the Eastern Cape based community radio station "Radio Karoo" that covers more than 32% of the Eastern Cape. He successfully applied to ICASA for x7 fm frequencies at high power and a block of spectrum for multiple STL links over the district. He is still active at "Radio Karoo" as the Incorporating / Managing Director, managing 10 studios (one per municipality) and staff deployed all over the Cacadu District Municipality.
The birth of the Electronic Media group of companies that includes Radio Studio took place from 2007 when the first registrations of the group of companies was confirmed. Today Radio Studio is a proud product of the Electronic Media group of companies with the vision to build radio stations that will reach communities throughout South Africa and even countries beyond.
